On November 6, Bettair Cities was present at the third edition of the SmartCat Challenge 2018, in which, their CEO, Josep Perelló had the opportunity to pitch their innovative solution to the attendees as part of the SmartCAT Challenge 2018 competition.
The SmartCAT Challenge is an initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Cybersecurity and Digital Society. Its main objective is to involve entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized companies to create technological solutions for the challenges presented nowadays by our municipalities.
The competition connects the problems of public entities with the proposals offered by the smart ecosystem of Catalonia, in order to be able to create ICT solutions to improve the life quality of citizens.
The phases in which the contest is framed are the following:
- Detection of challenges with public entities through workshops.
- Face-to-face presentation of the contest and publication of challenges.
- Collection of ICT solutions during the period of 3-4 months
- Selection of the 10 best technological solutions.
- Final Gala where the projects are defended and the names of the winners are given
Due to the innovative nature of the bettair® technology, Bettair Cities received the “Best SmartCAT Challenge Project 2018” award from the Keiretsu Forum, the largest international private investors network founded in 2000. This association offers a lot of support to start-ups, which includes opportunities for investment, international business contacts and business opportunities. The Keiretsu Forum Spain region formed in 2007 and is comprised of the Barcelona, Madrid, Donostia/San Sebastián and Andalucía chapters. The Barcelona chapter was launched in October 2007 and was the first international Keiretsu Forum chapter established in Europe.
