Bettair Cities receives the “Best SmartCAT Challenge Project 2018” award from the Keiretsu Forum

On November 6, Bettair Cities was present at the third edition of the SmartCat Challenge 2018, in which, their CEO, Josep Perelló had the opportunity to pitch their innovative solution to the attendees as part of the SmartCAT Challenge 2018 competition. The SmartCAT Challenge is an initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Cybersecurity and Digital Society. Its main objective is to involve entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized companies to create technological solutions for the challenges presented nowadays by our municipalities. The competition connects the problems of public entities with the proposals offered by the smart ecosystem of Catalonia, in order to be able to create ICT solutions to improve the life quality of citizens. The phases in which the contest is framed are the following:

• Detection of challenges with public entities through workshops.
• Face-to-face presentation of the contest and publication of challenges.
• Collection of ICT solutions during the period of 3-4 months
• Selection of the 10 best technological solutions.
• Final Gala where the projects are defended and the names of the winners are given

This year SmartCAT Challenge came to the city of Sabadell in order to promote innovative and technological solutions that can improve the services this city is offering. Bettair Cities was selected as one of the 10 best technological solutions out of 23. During the event, Bettair Cities presented their solution to the jury: Bettair® is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) that permits, for the first time, to map air pollution in cities in high resolution based on a large deployment of highly accurate static nodes.
