Bettair recognised as the best-performing Outdoor Air Monitoring system overall across all international testing sites

Bettair has achieved an outstanding result at the AIRLAB Microsensors Challenge 2025, organised by Airparif, receiving 9 awards and being recognised as the best-performing Outdoor Air Monitoring (OA-M) system overall across all testing sites.

One of the aspects that makes the AIRLAB Microsensors Challenge particularly valuable is its evaluation methodology. To our knowledge, it is the only international microsensor benchmark in which participating technologies are tested simultaneously, over the same period of time and under the same operating conditions, allowing a truly meaningful comparison of their performance.

In this edition, the sensors were tested for several months under real operating conditions in France (Paris), Ghana (Accra) and India (Bangalore), exposing the technologies to very different climates, pollution profiles, emission sources and operating conditions. This common testing framework makes it possible to compare the performance of the different technologies under the same real-world conditions.

This edition brought together solutions from companies across the world, making the AIRLAB Challenge one of the most relevant international benchmarks for air quality microsensor technologies.

9 awards: Global performance and accuracy

Global performance

These results show a particularly strong consistency across very different environments, with Bettair achieving the top overall performance award in every outdoor location and, consequently, also across all outdoor sites combined.

Bettair was also recognised as the best-performing system for Indoor Air Monitoring in an underground railway station environment, a new scenario introduced in this edition of the Challenge. This result reinforces the potential of Bettair technology across a wide range of applications, including urban environments, mobility, railways or industry.

The full results of the AIRLAB Microsensors Challenge 2025 can be explored through Airparif’s interactive web platform:

The achievement follows Bettair’s success in the 2023 AIRLAB Microsensors Challenge, when the company was recognised as the most accurate multi-pollutant sensor for outdoor environments after testing in Paris (France) and Bangkok (Thailand).

Receiving 9 awards after nine years of continuous development represents an important milestone for Bettair and a strong recognition of the work carried out by our team in sensor technology, calibration, data science and environmental monitoring.
